Spandan

Spandan Nitin Saraf

SarafsWe, the Parents of Spandan, Rev. Nitin Kiran Saraf and Rev. Mrs. Shradha Nitin Saraf, take delight in sharing Spandan’s salvation story with you.

On 20th of April 2016, after cottage prayer at Buldana and then dinner with my mom and brothers at Chikhli, we reached home at around 11.15pm. We were getting ready to go to bed as it was already late. My son Spandan who is 8 years old came to me and said, “Mom, can I ask you a question?” And I said you can and he asked me, “What is meant by salvation?” My husband Nitin and I looked at each other and told each other with our eyes that this is the time.Spandu-2

And I explained him that whoever accepts Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and ask forgiveness for their sins and repent for it and never do it again is a saved person. And then he asked the next question, “Can anybody accept Christ, I mean children or aged anyone?” And I said, Yes! anyone can accept Christ. Conversation Continues….

Spandan: “What if we accept Christ and ask forgiveness for our sins but again we commit sin?
Me: “We can again ask Lord’s forgiveness for that sin.”
Spandan: Which is the biggest sin?
Daddy: There is no big or small sin. Whatever is not according to the Lord is sin.
Spandan: Ok, I want to accept Christ as my personal Savior and be saved.
Me: Why do you feel that you want to be saved? (Wanted to know how deep he is thinking as his cousin Shruti accepted Christ just a day earlier, and since then he started thinking over it and then in cottage prayer also he heard her testimony how she has accepted the Lord.)
Spandan: Because everybody can be saved so I also want to experience.
Me: Everyone feels and accept Christ so you want to accept Christ?
Spandan: Mom, I have faith in God and I accept that He came for me on this earth and died for me on the cross and rose again on 3rd day. I want to be saved, I want forgiveness for all my sins and make sure that I can enter into heaven.”

And he was in tears. Nitin and I prayed for him one by one and then asked Spandan to pray the prayer for forgiveness and praise the Lord saying, “Lord, forgive my sins and help me to not commit sins again. Lord, I know that you are a good God and you will forgive my sins and make me a saved person. Help me to keep my faith strong. Amen.”

I do remember that once he asked a question, “what is sin?” during family prayer and Rajiv answered his question, and since Shruti accepted Christ somewhere as a mother I knew that Spandan is thinking about it more seriously.

Nitin and I want to praise God for Spandan and want to thank the Lord for all kids in family as we personally have been praying for their salvation and relationship with the Lord.
Keep praying with us that Spandan and his cousins should be strong in their faith throughout life and be faithful servant of Christ leading others to Christ.
