Sunitibai Prasad Gaikwad
Sunitibai Prasad Gaikwad was born on 06th February 1934 at Buldana.
Sunitibai studied at Nazarene Mission Primary School at Washim from 1-4th standard, and in Nazarene Mission Boarding School at Chikhli 5-9th.
When she was in 5th standard she attended Kelwad Nazarene Christian Camp where she heard Rev. S. J. Bhujbal’s sermon and the Lord’s gospel impacted her life. While she was thinking about the sermon, her Matron Mrs. Bhikubai Shinde from Nazarene Boarding School, Chikhli counseled her and helped her realize the need of being saved. So, Sunitibai went to the altar and asked forgiveness of her sins and committed her life to be life time follower of Jesus Christ.
She studied 10-11th at Municipal School Washim.
In 1950 Sunitibai finished her Eleventh Matriculation and was invited to work as a clerk at Reynold Memorial Hospital with Dr. Orpah Speicher. She was the fist official clerk at RMH 1950-53.
Sunitibai got engaged with Prabhakar Tukaram Gaikwad (BD- 04th April 1926) in a Nazarene Christian Camp held at Kelwad, Dist. Buldana on 1st March 1953. They got married on 14th April 1953 at Chikhli. Their marriage was solemnized by Rev. S. Y. Salve. Mr. Prabhakar Tukaram Gaikwad was known as ‘Prasad’. He was in an Indian Military. He fought in 2nd world war.
Sunitibai worked as a Teacher at Bakliwal high-school in Washim for 3 years. Due to second daughter Neeta’s accident she had to quit her job.
Later on she started working as a teacher at Nathar English School, Yavatmal from 27th July 1973 on wards.
After bearing 7 Children, while she was working as a teacher in 1980 she completed postal D.Ed.
She got retired in 06th February 1993.
She was always involved in Sundayschool and women’s organization of the Church. She was always ready to preach. She served as a Women’s Organization President, Church Secretary, Sundayschool Teacher and Secretary. She would gather several neighbor children and bring them to Sundayschool.
On 15th March 2001 Sunitibai’s husband Prabhakar went to be with the Lord.
Their Children are:
1. Avinash (BD- 3rd July 1955). He was married to Annie. Their children are Aparna and Ashish (Bunty). After Annie’s death, he got married to Bina. They have a daughter name Neha. They reside in Washim.
2. Neeta (BD- 05th October 1956). She is married to Mr. Anant Benjamin Winget (BD- 29th September). They have two daughters and are married. Mrs. Shweta Nishant Ranade and the other is Mrs. Pratiksha Pranil Nathar. They all reside in Yavatmal.
3. Vandana (BD- 26th January 1958). She was married to Rev. Madhukar Govindrao Kinkar (BD- 15th December 1956). He has gone to be with the Lord. She has two sons Dr. Arpan (Sunny) (BD- 26th October 1993) and Apurva (Sikku) (BD- 20th December 1995). She resides in Washim and runs a school named Alex English Primary School. Rev. Mrs. Vandana is also ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, Eastern Maharashtra District on 22nd January 2019.
4. Sanjay (BD- 03rd September 1959). He married Naina N. Nathar. They have a Daughter named Sanjana and a son named Vishwas. They reside in Yavatmal.
5. Ajay (BD- 22nd October 1962) (H.Sc. ITI). He is married to Sangeeta Prasadrao Saraf (13th August 1968, B.A.; B.Ed.) They have a son Yash Ajay Gaikwad (BD- 06th March 1995). They reside in Yavatmal.
6. Sushil (BD- 13th February 1963). He is married to Vandana Manmothe. They have a daughter named Sarah. They reside in Yavatmal.
7. Megha (BD- 01st October 1965). She is married to Vishal. They have a daughter named Mrunali and son Cyril. They reside in Mumbai.
Sunitibai has 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well.
